| August 1, 2010 summer.. summer summer summer...! hello lovelies! hope you're all enjoying your summer! San Diego's weather has been more akin to that of the Pacific Northwest, which I don't mind at all. :) brings fond memories of my chapters there. MMmmmm... :) indeed, 'tis AUGUST 1 and my wonderful bandmates and i have already had quite a busy summer. ;) we've had several shows so far---in fact, July was our busiest to date---and now, more fun...we'll be at CityFest in Hillcrest Sunday 8/8 at the Grand Stage, 12noon; playing North Park Music Thing Saturday 8/14 at Sunset Temple (we'll be sharing the stage with Exene Cervenka!) and in addition, I've been nominated 2nd year in a row for "Best Pop" for San Diego Music Awards! *blush blush blush* and really, honored to be in such great company in this category; love the folks i'm nominated with. <3 as you may recall from last year, this is a category where the public can vote: from Aug 1 (today) thru Aug 20 go to San Diego Music Awards where you can vote online for this category and others. if local music is important to you, please go online and vote---your voice is important to US, your local musicians. ;) would sure love to see your faces at our shows---we're having so much fun, and love to share what we do with you. i'm SO blessed with my bandmates; they make playing music all the more fun. ;) don't be a stranger---would love to hear from you. oh, and hey...we're going to be RECORDING a full-length CD beginning of October! BEYOND thrilled! much love and appreciation to you.... wendy May 23, 2010 hello lovelies! hope all's well with you! yep, had another earthquake today. did I feel it? heck no! :) i'm finding myself even more thankful now than ever for all the lovely experiences and people i've met and befriended this past year. yes....i believe, life is good. ;) this summer will be a GREAT one for my band and I! several shows coming up: June contains Beauty Bar and OB Street Fair, July is IPO-LA at Club Fais Do Do and Lestat's, at the Tiki in September with my pals SO3, plus a few other surprises yet to be confirmed. keep in the loop...i appreciate seeing your faces. ;) we're gradually working on recording, too. if anyone has a spare 5k, feel free to contact me. I don't have five grand!"-Anthony Michael Hall, Sixteen Candles) the summer will kickoff with my joining Echo Revolution--one of my favorite local bands--onstage for a brief jaunt up the coast over Memorial Day weekend. i'm quite excited--I love their songs and feel quite honored to be asked to join them onstage. here are the dates/info, all quick-like: Thur. 5/27-Tin Can Alehouse, San Diego Sat. 5/29-Frog & Peach, San Luis Obispo Sun. 5/30-Brainwash, San Francisco you in these areas over the holiday? come see us! :) want to keep posted on all upcoming events? please email me, wendy@wendybailey.com---and no, I don't like spam, so you won't get any either. ;) much love and appreciation to you, wendy April 7, 2010 hello lovelies! hope all's well with you! i'll be honest...i didn't feel the earthquake. was walking at the beach...didn't feel a dadgum thing. ;) however my amp was slightly askew upon entering my home... indeed, my band and i had a great time these past few months with some great shows at House of Blues, IndieFest VI, and other upcoming shows at the Ruby Room, Soda Bar and The Joint in LA. we had the wonderful privilege to be the "guinea pig band" for a recording class at Studio West, a top-professional recording studio here in town. we got to record a couple tunes in this great place! thanks to Astra and Caleb for such a great experience! we're looking to mix the tunes and have them available to you sooner than later. ;) i'll be updating my email/social network lists at our shows. if you want to be kept informed of upcoming shows, events, and our occasional soup night, you'll want to sign up. :) keep a lookout for a spazzy clipboard---and soon some MERCH---at an upcoming show. ;) the band and i greatly appreciate your ears and your attention, and would love to hang out with y'all. absolute best to y'all, wendy Jan. 18, 2010 hello all! hope all's well with you! Much, much more to come. my band and I have been recording too---a very exciting venture! more to come as that develops. keep tuned in here---so much more in development! 2010 will be an exciting year for all of us! counting my blessings, many blessings to you, wendy Nov. 28, 2009 hello all! hope all's well with you! post-Thanksgiving, and what blessings I have. :) well dear folks, after a bit of time to reflect, i must inform those of you who don't know that Myrtle, my dear cat friend who's ears i totally blew out, went to a better place a few weeks ago. she was quite sick---most likely due to all the noise i was making---and opted for a place where she has better ears to hear. :) so indeed, no more blogs from her---at least, from THIS reality...we'll see. she's Myrtle after all, and just may have the ability to do supernatural things....blogging beyond the grave? we'll see... ;) otherwise, i'm so thrilled with my band---they're so great, i'm very thankful for them! we're in the process of recording for a spring 2010 release. very excited and very excited for you to hear. also, tomorrow night i'll have the distinct privilege of jumping onstage for a song with the Shambles for their "Forty-One Sixty" CD release!
